Hi, my name is Miguel Montes. I'm from Portugal. I'm 24. I started to be interested in Astronomy when I was very young (5 or 6), but really got into it in the 11.º grade, in my school's astronomy club. Since then, I've worked in "Centro Ciência Viva do Algarve" (
http://www.ccvalg.pt), a science museum here in Faro, Portugal, as an astronomy monitor. I've been making astronomic sessions almost every night of the summer since '98.
I'm also the webmaster of two portuguese astronomy websites:
http://www.ga-esec-pinheiro-rosa.rcts.pt (since last year, neglected...

) and
http://www.ualg.pt/ccviva/astronomia. I'm the admin of an astronomy discussion forum in portuguese:
http://astronomia.ultimate.pt/forum. I'm also co-writer of an astronomy bi-weekly e-newsletter (in portuguese, check our archives in
http://www.ualg.pt/ccviva/astronomia...er/arquivo.htm. If you want to join us, PM me!)
I like doing astrophotography with a buddy of mine.
We also calculated the distance to the Sun in the Venus transit of 2004 (with an error of just 0.011%!!!). And joined the PARTNeR project:
http://laeff.inta.es/partner/index.php.
Basically that's it. Glad to be here!
Greetings!
