Default Gamma Ray?

Hi guys
Recently, I was watching an video from Scientific exploration show. They mentioned the gamma ray from every direction. I mean they detected gamma ray coming from different directions every single day (not coming from the Sun). @_@ how do I put this in a speciific sentence... ok let me put it this way, our milky way galaxy also emitted gamma ray, but it takes about a hundred million years to travel to other region. Instead, scientist detected gamma ray coming from different direction every single day. I hope you get my point ><. Unfortunately, the show ended without telling the answer ^_^... I was wondering can someone tell me why? Cound it be the super massive blackholes or Quasars or dark energy? If the answer is the black hole, how is it possible? Blackhole doesn't emits light... so could it be something else?
