Doesn't the tail actually make up most of what we see of the comet, and the comet head itself is relatively small in comparison? Or am I completely wrong?

I know I probably shouldn't let them get to me, but...I've been getting freaked out by what they are saying about it, that it could possibly impact the Earth and all. It's not the Planet X stuff that they talk about that scares me, it's the fact that I don't know much at all about this comet and the possibility of it affecting us seems to be there...
