What are parabolic orbits?

A parabolic orbit is one with zero hyperbolic excess speed. What that means, is, it's just barely an escape orbit, one where your speed relative to the attractive object goes to zero as you pull away. (Cue "Pretty Woman" by Ray Orbison).
