Tim, if this is true...if nothing 'appears' to cross the event horizon, as seen from earth, then how do we 'see' black holes feeding? Or, do we actually see it? Or, is it just assumed that it must be?

I saw a link, where a radio experiment showed a black hole taken years apart, at a certain frequency, appeared to be 'feeding'.
