I got 978 wpm and 91% comprehension (10/11).

When I was in sixth grade, we all did a reading speed test that adjusted your timed speed to reflect comprehension, sort of like typing tests adjust your typing speed for errors. On that one I clocked 610 wpm.

The test we did in school was developed by professionals for educational purposes, while the test on the Web site was developed by a company selling training software. I'm a bit more inclined to place confidence in the former.

I think I go slower with material that actually holds my interest. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to read through Verne's The Mysterious Island a couple of nights ago.
