I just recently read an article in New Scientist about a group of scientists who are claiming to have found biological cells (without DNA) in samples from
red rain that fell over in 2001. Unfortunately you must be a subscriber to read the article on the
New Scientist website (current issue).
Here is an Observer News Story:

And the original research paper:

If this has already been posted, I apologize. I tried a search and nothing came up; also I checked the first page of several catagories.
I'm cautious about the story, but it does seem intriguing. They definitely look like cells, and the New Scientist article indicates the samples have been sent to another group for testing.
Any thoughts?
