Some interesting facts about Venus Fly-traps.

In the wild they should actually be called Venus Ant-traps. (Though mine catch a lot of mosquitos)

They are actually communal plants with each leaf an individual plant with its own root. The bulb is a shared nutrient resource.

You can tell how old one is by the size of its traps. The rule of thumb is a quarter inch a year, and the average life-span ranges from 5 to 7 years.

Hard water kills them rapidly, I have to water mine with de-ionized.
