Although it is hard to say exactly what places have been updated, there are clearly many more hi-res regions now available. For example, parts of the Sunda Strait have been updated (but still not Krakatoa, dammit!) and Mount Olga near Uluru in Australia. I've been in Zambia (in 2001, for obvious reasons...), and I regularly check it--there's lot more coverage in western region, unfortunately not in the places I've been.
Oh, I forgot to mention that a short while ago all Japan's buildings became available in 3D!
