Margiani, I think you're a little over the top. Geologists, biologists, and science in general have spent the last 200 years gaining acceptance for gradualism over catastrophism. Most of what happens is gradualism; it's hard to find anything more gradual than continental drift, for example, or deep ocean sediment buildup. When evidence of something really catastrophic is found, like the K-T crater, it currently takes a little nudging to gain acceptance. But wholesale assertions that attribute everything to catastrophes are inappropriate.
