Perhaps a moderator can help me out here. It is a matter if scope of the ATM idea and the thirty day clock.

The Penning trap is a device that can isolate protons. My ATM idea is that if you can isolate a proton (not accelerated) that it will be swarmed by unifying particles which can’t join the proton due to incompatible vibrations and will therefore gather around the proton and form an electron.

Having just learned about the Penning trap I will need to explore the connection between it and my idea. I am inclined to believe that the static and magnetic fields employed by the trap, and the laser cooling and addition rotating field to lengthen the containment period might cause an environment so removed from the ideal matter formation environment that the electron will not form under Penning trap conditions.

I need to ask the moderator if the new rules of ATM re. the thirty day clock enable this idea to be developed for longer than thirty days as long as progress is being made, or are the new rules intended to require me do the development of the idea before bringing the idea to ATM.

If the latter is the case, then this thread should be defined as limited to the determination of an effective way to isolate a proton, i.e. the Penning trap. That would mean that the limited thread objective may have been met, ending the thread. It could then be closed early freeing the BAUT resources to address other ATM threads.

After I gain an understanding of the Penning trap and how it pertains to my idea I would then activate a new thread to present the progress that I have made and to present the updated ATM idea.

Please provide some direction so that I can operate within the new rules and enable BAUT resources to be used the way BAUT intends.

I know it carries no weight in the decision but my view is that I could make more progress by leaving the thread open to allow professionals and interested posters to assist in the progress of the idea if they can. But the thirty day clock expiring might mean that any attempt on my part to reopen the ATM idea after that would result in failure under the rules.

I would rather you close this thread now if you determine that is the appropriate course, if that would allow me to work on the idea on my own and open a new thread when I can show some progress.
