There was no "unusual emphasis" intended. I was planning on using The French Connection as a clue at some point to refer to Charles Messier so I threw it in at that juncture.

I think that a clarification is in order. The four objects all have a general similarity in that they are comprised of more than one star. However, that is really irrevelant to the answer. All four of them have something in common that makes them different from the rest of the Messier objects.
