I'm glad you linked to the Apollo Image Atlas, because it clearly shows that many of the photos are to put it kindly BAD. If you look at the Apollo 16 surface photographs, you'll see that many of the photographs are taken from the Lunar Rovering Vehicle and are just pictures of the surface, the trip along the surface and the LRV's TV camera.
