I don't believe there is evidence that the Earth, Moon, or the Earth-Moon system are slowing.
Pardon me for jumping in here, Gary, but I need a clarification on this . . . you seem to accept that the Moon is farther away from Earth this year than last year, and will be even farther away next year, but you say that its orbital velocity is not slowing?

Am I correct in that, or am I missing something?
