It's great to meet you by they way. I can tell I'm going to like you.
I just wanted to point out that Alfven wasn't actually wrong, nor did he claim to be wrong at his acceptance speech. At his acceptance speech he simply pointed out that everything and every idea has a domain of applicability. His original reference to "frozen magnetic fields" only applied to *dense*, non current carrying plasmas only. What he objected to in his speech was that specific idea being applied to *light* plasmas and current carrying plasmas. He accused the mainstream of thinking they understood his theories on this matter without actually understanding them. He was right on all counts.
It's very interesting to note how few mainstream astronomers have actually read his book Cosmic Plasma, yet how many of them believe that they have a good grasp of electrical theory and how it relates to plasma.
I can tell from the tone of your post and your chosen handle that you and I are going to get along famously.
