Default Soft Delete

vB allows for moderators to "soft" delete a thread or a post. Sometimes when a thread is deemed beyond hope it will be deleted (the exact reasons for a delete will fall under the rules that will be announced soon). In a soft delete a reson can be given for the delete and where the thread/post was a message with a reason will be given for the delete. Soft delete will give transparability to our moderation. Also it allows for a delete to be reviewed.

The following post has been soft deleted. A similar thing will show up for a thread.

I'm afraid I see nothing, I assume that the reason you 'soft deleted' a post is only visible to other mods/admins.

Alright I'll see what can be done. Otherwise it'll just allow mods to reverse a descision.

As far as I can tell you should be able to see it. Using a different computer, as a guest, and I could see the deleted post, and also a deleted thread which was deleted elsewhere in the forum.

Weird if I log out then I can see both deleted messages in this thread. As soon as I log back in they're gone.

what about locking a thread? that seems applicable in many instances.

I can see the soft-deleted messages, but then I'm a moderator.
