Default Google Ads gone for good?

I finally realized the new BB has no Google ads. Are these gone forever?

I eventually ignored them on the old BABB, mostly, but they were good for a chuckle once in a while. I'll be happy if they never come back, though.

They'll be back in some form. We've got to pay the server costs, and this is the best way out there right now.

Once you do get the Google ads, please have them arranged in a horizontal bar, and not a vertical stack as seen on the UT main page.

seconded. (ack! boyfriend left keyboard on Caps Lock!) the bar across the bottom was a lot easier to ignore, which I suppose is the opposite of what the people paying for the ads want, but oh, well. it's a nuisance to have to scroll past them to get to the thread itself.

I'm afraid the ads will be set up to maximize their usefulness, but that will be mitigated by both Fraser and my wanting to keep people happy. We have some ideas in mind we're working on. Stay Tuned.

Hey, have you guys thought of registering for some sort of government grant? I'd say that you'd have a shot at qualifying for an educational resource grant of some kind. Might be something to look into.

Heh. That would give the conspiracy mongers some fodder, now wouldn't it?

That's true. Plus there are lots and lots and LOTS of guidelines you have to follow (don't even get me started on 508 Compliance).

Ooh. Hadn't thought of the CTs. That would actually be pretty funny.

Anyway, just a thought.

On the bright side, what would we do with ourselves without all the astrology ads to laugh at?

Definitely bring back the Google ads. After all, how many big discussions have begun over a woowoo site found via Google ad? And what about all those online stores that sold telescopes, space toys, and the like?

Okay, the ads have returned. Hopefully that's unintrusive enough.

Unintrusive and quite ironic.

How "appropriate" that the first one I see is pure B.S.

Not sure if I'd rather be amused by Matthew Lesko instead of Bart Sibrel.

Given the choices, I'd take Lesko. Maybe if Mr. Aldrin isn't busy we could coax him into providing another left hook.

Wow. I didn't see the ads at all until I actually went looking for them.
