I have a question concerning the quote-in-quote issue: the old quotes that are already in a quoted text are automatically rejected. Sometimes they're necessary for the discussion's clarity and is not too easy to go back, search and put them in the right place in my reply. It is possible to quote an entire post, including the quoted text that it might contain or this option has been disabled on purpose by the board administrators?

I could be wrong, but from my experience that's always been the case with vBull. If need be it's not too much of a pain to add the additional formatting manually.

I agree with Wolverine. I just use the 'post quick reply' section nowadays to post anyway.

with regards

It can be a pain. It depends on what you are discussing. I'm often in a back and forth exchange where the context of the quote is important. So where the post might have been:

I end up keeping a second window open to read the original post and cut 'n paste as needed. Sure, I can do it, but it is clumsy and slow especially if I'm responding to a long post. For me, this is probably my key annoyance with this BB software.

A single quote is easy to fix manually, but sometimes there are more quotes in the quoted reply.
As Van Rijn pointed out the worst case is when there are multiple nested quotes; quoting the whole post gives you a bunch of phrases whitout much logical connection between them since the connection was made by the quote-in-quote parts. And the more nested is the quoted reply the more difficult becomes to fix it manually.

The old BABB board had this capability; I don't know if this board has it.
I don't know if the administrators deactivate it or it is off by default and must be specifically activated. If this issue hasn't been already raised and settled I'd like to ask what are the options of this board for this quoting issue.

Some board designers/administrators/moderators/users hate nested quotes. The context is in the thread, and continually nesting the quotes just duplicates content, and increases the overhead.

The phpBB BABB had a thread that existed just to see how far out that could be taken. I didn't even read it, because it locked up the browser that I was using at the time. It may be available on the BAUT somewhere...

It is clear to me that quoting uncarefully nested quotes could give some nasty results; that's why I've asked if the administrators have disabled this facility on purpose. If not maybe they could analyse this issue and decide if is worth or not to activate this option.
