Default Editting hiccup

I am not able to edit my posts [edit4: with some exceptions now, apparently. ]. [My best correction comes after I've exposed myself to the wiser public.]

The edit window opens but when I try to save - nothing, except the blue border around the "save" button shows it has been pressed. Alternatively, when I select "Go Advanced", I am told "sorry..." and I'm offered a link to the homepage.

This is not a new problem for me. I did not see a thread on it, but offer a provisional apology just in case there is one [edit: a related thread][edit2: hey, it worked, albeit, slowly][edit3: edit2 was quick. However, I have waited over a minute in the past and gave up. Is it a time thing?]

[This is important to me as I expect I have the most number of edits on the board and don't want to be forced into using good grammar right off the bat. ]

[Edit5: I still can't edit the post in "Bad Astronomy: The Book", however. ]

I've been having problems with editing in the basic editor for several weeks now. Sometimes it will accept the click on Save, other times it will not, it just does nothing. It always seems to work if I then go into the advanced editor & click Save though. This started for a me a couple of months ago now.

I've had similar problems on and off. It seems to have gotten somewhat worse lately.

Thanks. Edit empathy is better than none.

Do you find it easier to edit depending on the forum you are using?

Would recommend doing a full revision on edit. The quick edit function's been unreliable at best. The full edit hasn't let me down yet.

It does seem more reliable now the s/w has been upgraded. Also, that new little swirly icon to the left of the save button after it's clicked lets you know something (maybe) happening now!
