universe today forums merged with the bad astronomy forums, the bad astronomy website was started to focus attention on bad astronomy in the literature, news, media, and elsewhere.

And, Ashok, the term "Bad Astronomy" is referring to the examples of bad astronomy that we would like to correct.

[pedant mode] Actually it was altered to 'Bad Astronomy and Universe Today Forum', not just Bad Astronomy. If you click on the two icons to the left & right of the title you can see they are still separate websites [end pendant mode]

I think the overall effect of the merger of the two forums has been very positive i.e. introducing visitors of each site to each other & at the same time pulling more traffic to the forums.

Wasn't there some talk of having a competition to find a new name for the merged forum? Why are we still calling it the BAUT?

I used to use "..." quite a lot, until a certain person educated me that it didn't mean what I thought it meant. Furthermore, it should of actually of been " ...." sometimes.

Gee...wonder who that was...

I know what it means, but I use it my way anyways.

Actually, no. It should be "it should actually have been". [nitpick off]

"Should actually have been" is wrong; "should" is a verb and should go with the other verbs. (I do it anyway, but if you're going to be fussy . . . .)

Then,,, there's those who like to,,, well,,, use something other than "..." ,,,..,,.,.,...,,,

Is that just bad grammar, or is ",,," actually something?

PS I'm not pointing at somebody here but on a different board.

Bad grammar. The only punctuation mark with significance when it's repeated (leaving aside minor exceptions regarding quotation marks and parentheses) is the period. You don't even get more than one exclamation point.

What I thought, just wanted to make sure there wasn't some obscure rule or exception out there I didn't know about. Thanks.
