Default Where is my post?

I made a post two days ago about M.I.T. classes becoming free online in the General Babbling forum. I got a message stating it would be posted after being approved by a moderator, but it has yet to show up.

I would hope after two days a mod looked at my post. Was my post rejected for something?

I don't know. I'm not a moderator or admin.

I think they have system settings that delay postings of new users, if they include a URL, so that the article can be examined to see if it's actually spam. I don't know how they normally conduct that business, but it does semm it should have been examined by now.

Anyway, if the information is time-critical, you could probably present it without the URL, perhaps substituting some keywords that could help an interested party find the information on their own.

Or, come to think of it, I could probably do a search right now and find the URL, and post it myself.... Searching....

Do you know or does anyone know how long the "spam filtering" lasts for new members?

I try to do that a couple of times a day. It's possible that one of us got a bit overzealous and deleted the post without a good look - since 98% of the posts held like this are spam, it's easy to start running on autopilot.

Not sure what the demarcation is for number of posts, and I'm not sure I'd want to say if I did know, just in case it gave some enthusiastic spammer ideas.

Thanks for the help ToSeek. I could definitely see where a mod would see the words "free courses" and inadvertently mark it as spam.

I hope I don't have many more posts left before they no longer have to be approved! Even my posts in this thread have had to be approved before being posted!

The only posts that are moderated (currently) are ones with URLs. If you're in a rush to get off moderation, go play some of the games in the games forum.

Hmm, this might have been me. I'm pretty careful with the threads that have to be moderated. When the posted url isn't immediately obvious as to whether or not it's okay for BAUT I go and check them out. I do remember thread a little while ago that was for free online courses, but the url pointed to freecigars.com so I didn't bother checking it out. If that was the one, then I say oops and sorry! Repost it and PM an online moderator to go check it out (if you're still not out of the moderated woods). If this has already been fixed ... ignore me. I'm used to it
