Found my spell ckecker:

It also seems to have quick dictionary and Wikepedia look up.

Just highlight (hold left mouse button down and drag across text) any passage or word and right click mouse for options.

I had to restart Internet Explorer, open the iespell options, then hit ok on before it would work for me.

In fact, FF2 comes with a spell checker included

Just out of curiosity, is there a way to add words to it? It's good with common words, but has a limited scientific vocabulary.

Yes, you can add words. If it finds a misspelled word, it lists alternate spellings. You have options to change, ignore or add to dictionary.
