Default Using a text word as a hyperlink

I used to know how to imbed a URL into my text so that by clicking on a word you would get the link.

I know it involved [url]link, word[ /url] somehow but how?

At the bottom of my page it says that HTML is off. Can I turn that on? The reason I ask is that when I use the vB code like above, when I view the edit screen, I don't see the code, just the "Thank you" in blue and underlined.

I doubt it you can turn it on. That appears to be an administrative option, a mode for the entire forum. I'd guess, if allowed for all, then the members can generate their own HTML code and that's probably not healthy for security and other good things.

I'm not sure what you're after with HTML. You may be using the WYSIWYG editing mode, the most advanced, "Enhanced", where the edited material looks more like the final product -- I don't use it. You may wish to use the intermediate level of editing, "Standard" where the vB code is apparent. Visit User CP :: Edit Options :: Miscellaneous Options to change your editor selection.

Thank you! That did the trick.
