Only generically.

As for the rules (key portions in bold):

[quote]2. Civility and Decorum

Politeness is the top rule here. Of course, we expect to have spirited debates! That’s fine, as long as the people involved extend one another basic respect. Disagreements are inevitable, but even in those situations you must still be nice.

Attack the ideas, not the person(s) presenting them. If you've got concerns with what someone is saying, feel free dismantle their arguments, but do not resort to ad hominem or personal attacks. Be mindful and respectful of others' feelings. If you feel that someone has crossed the line and insulted you, please contact one of the moderators via private message or e-mail. Don't write scathing posts in the forum to try and humiliate people publicly.

If these guidelines are not followed, the administrators/moderators will take swift and appropriate action, so please behave accordingly.[/

Put simply, ignoring someone's response is impolite, particular when they've cared enough to take a considerable amount of time researching and forumlating the answer.

If there's a freedom of speech issue that applies unconditionally to BAUT, it's that no one is entitled to a captive audience. And the (unwritten) rule has always been to say what you have to say in your own words, supported with judicious cites, references, and reasonable quotes (within fair use). (See CT forum for ample precedents. It comes up there pretty regularly.)
Understood and agreed.

Gotcha, I understand what you're trying to say.

Fair enough.

(I wasn't easy to resist the temptation to joke: "I'm sorry, did you say something?" )

Not everything can be answered, including when the information is listed elsewhere. Sometimes people need clarification of that information, or it may be poorly stated elsewhere, or they're looking for more information.

Also, someone might have thought of a novel concept, and wants feedback.

That's what I see the Q&A for. Not for answering basic questions that have already been answered in many other places.

The only thing left, Mugs, is ATM. After all, physics don't become mainstream until they are published 'elsewhere' and defended in 'many other places'.

I sincerely hope this isn't some roundabout argument for allowing unrestricted ATM outside of ATM with the 'excuse' that one's only asking questions?

Ultimately, you're asking the rest of us to adopt your own value judgments on what constitutes a valid question. I won't speak for the others, Mugs, but that is utterly unacceptable to me.

Nope. The presenting of ATM theories or concepts is one thing. Asking questions about astronomical issues, perhaps from a novel perspective, is right up the Q&A's alley.

I believe you misunderstood what I was trying to say, as I explained in the paragraph above.
