I wonder if the "views" count for a thread includes the views of the thread originator. How often is the count updated, i.e. every minute, five minutes, etc.?

A vBulletin user on the Web said the view counts are updated by a background cron (Wikipedia) job, with a frequency set by the administrator, but usually with periods of 30 or 60 minutes. (But, it's possible, but unwise for reason of resources consumed, for an admin to configure for instant updates.)

So, probably, check back in an hour.

That seems right that it refreshes every hour. And it appears to count each visit by the originator too, thanks.

And I just signed out and viewed this thread six times and they got counted so it also counts views from unregistered lurkers too fyi.
