Serious astronomy of the Great Pyramid at Giza

I thought people might be interested in this article from a recent issue of American Scientist, entitled "Astronomy and the Great Pyramid". It is by J. Donald Fernie, Professor Emeritus of Astronomy at the University of Toronto. Since the previous thread on the pyramids got locked, I started a new one. This isn't non-mainstream, but this seems to be the place for pyramid discussions.

Interesting ideas in the article. I fear any thread containing the word "pyramid" is not long for the board though.

Fernie presents a reasonably good summary. Those interested in astronomical alignments should certainly read the Spence paper.
