Default Hey Grant - How about the lunar occultation of Jupiter Dec 7

Hey Grant...what do you think will or won't happen during the occultation of Jupiter by the moon on December 7th? Here is the info on the event. Please note that predicted times across the US are listed to the second.

Not that Grant is still reading the forum, but there's also one on November 9th just before noon for a good part of the Eastern US. It should be a good challenge for small aperture telescopes.

Just a standard warning if you try - the sun won't be very far away (around 45º), so use common sense.

Don't expect an answer -- Grant's been banned.

That doesn't matter -- he never answered before he was banned, either :P

Well, Jupiter just disappeared behind the moon's sunlit side a few minutes ago, right on schedule. I was lucky in that I caught the occultation between the clouds (daytime sucker holes?).

Hopefully they'll lighten up a bit for the reappearance in about an hour. Seems everything in the solar system is right on schedule once again.

Obviously the work of the Zetas. This is such a well publicised event that everyone will be watching, and they can't risk having the world know it's about to go topsy turvey. How will they ever revitalize their spirits if they don't horrible, horrible deaths?
