Hey folks-- don't forget, I'll be on the Art Bell show (without Art Bell; the host on Sundays is George Noory) tonight. See my main page for details.

Dear BA,
Enjoyed listening for about an hour (2:10 - 3:20 am EST). But us Old Folks need our sleep. Caught a few of the call-ins. Nice to hear your voice, again.

Yes he did.

I listened for the Whole 3 Hours, even though I kept losing the signal.

And how about that Planet X thing? I'd say that it sounds like a Broken Record, but that can be Entertaining!

BA did very well, a few of the calls made had good questions, BA stands on solid ground, i did not like his answer to the planets being in the same plane tho,,,,, i know none are perpendictaluar to others but they are not in the same plane, for the most part i was impressed, i like his answer for the face,,,, "its rocks", yeah thats all i see too, i would have liked to get thru to ask about mars atmoshpere, like how was it ever warm enough for water to flow and did it ever have a atmoshpere capible of holding water? but the phones were jammed with planet X crap, stitchen is a complete fool for writing that stuff, lets face it the sumarains did not even have paper, yet they knew planet dynamics, yeah,,,, BA did not guess at what he does not know, he stated "i don't know that" many times, he did a good job of not falling into the trap questions noorey laid on him to. Art bell does the same thing in his interveiws, whats funny is people think we came from mars, noorey is one of them, he said it once or twice, BA should have set him straight on how that is almost impossible, most the nite was spent on planet X crap, noorey just could not grasp the idea that its all "bovine excrement" good job BA

Yeah, HUb', I know what you mean.

Between the distance to the Nearest Station, and the Weather, that Night, I kept losing the signal.

Luckily, TBA, has a very Distinctive Voice, or else I never would have found it, again!

Too bad ... missed it too, but I can get the replay by subscribing to Art's Replay Services over the InterNet.

Ah well, it is, after all, the Best Comedy Show, on the Radio Dial!

What, are you implying that this whole BA thing is just a hoax? Something put off by the gum'mint to spread disinformation about the true state of astronomy and thus control the masses?

Yeah, I can see that now. I'm with you.

I have.

Of course, so have BadDad and Bad Editor. Dr. Don has, and probably a couple others I am forgetting. But who knows if they are real...

Well, we've talked a bit. So unless he's an AI program with a synthesized voice, I tend to think he's real.

TBA, didn't you and George Noorey, already have this Conversation?

And didn't he, not seem to get the point?

BTW, when September 2003 comes around and we're All still here, are you going to rant when you get back on the Show, or are you going to be your usual Polite Self?

*Putting on turban to make prediction*
Of course he'll be polite. Best way to win an argument. The first one who starts ranting always looks like an idiot.
We were here after Y2K. We were here after the scary planetary alignment of 5/5. And now we have another totally non-event coming at us. Lemme put it this way: anyone want to buy a book or video?

Hi, new to the board but discovered it because of the Art Bell show (Noory is the lesser of the two evils, the BA wouldn't have stood a chance against Art who likes to completely rephrase an interviewees message in his bumper "talks") Very pleased to hear someone sensible on that show.

"I feel that we are being misinformed about rocks from Mars being found on Earth ,,,,,It was retracted at one time but generally held to be true. What are you thoughts?? "

I'd like to know more about this if someone has information. Is it not scientific evidence that rocks from Mars have been found on Earth? How can they tell if a rock comes from Mars in the first place? And please, use laymen terms, I'm a bit thick

You doubt The Bad Astronomer?

Just Kidding, actually there are many ways that Exo-Geologists, you don't hear that Term very Often, yet, can tell that a Meteorite, Originally, well since the Planet Formed anyway, came from Mars.

The Big Ones are, of couse, Rock Composition, Mineral Type, and the Presence of Iron Dioxide, which can only form in the presense of Oxygen, hence the Name, but the Best Way to tell, is to look for Bubbles of Gas, because thanks to the Viking Missions, we Now, Know what Mars' Atmosphere Contains, mostly a Middling amount, of Carbon Dioxide!

I have a radio with a wind up power supply. Somebody invented a carbon steel or some such metal spring that gives at least 30" or more per wind. The inventor wanted to connect all the isolated places to the rest of the world through radio. People owned the radios but batteries were a problem. 60 bucks but that's not too many batteries saved before you are even.

Kidding or not, doubting me is the way to bet. I don't argue from authority, and I don't want people believing what I say just because I have a degree and a website. That's what sets true scientists apart from pseudoscientists: we want people to be skeptical, while the other guys just want to be believed.

True, but he was doubting your Debating Skills, and I'm Still amazed that Noory wants to give you a Second Go, after the Way that you Thoroughly Dismantled most of his Favourite Theories; Remember, next time, Hit 'im in The Deluge!

Edit: I Must Learn how to Spell!

You're right, ZaphodBeeblebrox, but I was jokingly challenging the BA's debating skills if put up against Always-Has-The-Last-Word Bell. Not that I don't enjoy Art's show, but it can be frustrating at times.

I'd love to hear him back on with Noory but I fear it would be more of the same.

I'm on a waiting list for your book at my local library, BA. Can't wait to read it.
