Sunset last night (did not write down the time after checking Skymap, darn) 4/14 was at Azi 252 Alt 31, but should have been at Azi 265 Alt 19.
SOUTH by 13 and HIGH by 12 degrees. The Earth wobble had been putting the sunset SOUTH, the sunrise NORTH. Sunrise 4/15 was at Azi 76 Alt 12, but should have been at Azi 82 Alt 7. NORTH by 6 HIGH by 5.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't sunrise and sunset always at Alt 0 (zero) degrees?

I also don't know what's wrong with her copy of Skymap but I use Winstars and it has sunrise on 4/15 exactly where she stated it should be. Azi 76. Sunset on 4/14 should have been at Azi. 285 so not only is her software wrong but she must be crosseyed. :-?

She probably forgot to adjust for daylight savings time again. The software I use had the correct time and azimuth. I didn't notice any deviation last night.

I wouldn't be surprised if she has the location set completely wrong for Skymap. I don't think she understands the concept of longitude and latitude (roughly 43.5219539 / -89.7709022 for Baraboo, Wisconsin (airport)).

I'm not too far from her, north central Indiana, so my settings won't differ much from hers.

On a side note. Went with our local astronomy club last friday. Got to look through one of These

Awesome telescope and everything was right where it was supposed to be

Just so happens I have a copy of skymap myself. It listed the sunset time tonight at 8:15pm. The same time the local weather stations gave, and just about the time it set while I was on my drive home. Either she's making this up or doesn't have the correct location set on skymap.... or both.

Don't be too embarassed. There are Zidiots in many countries. Take Jan Rypdahl for example. He seemed rational, but believed Nancy and her imaginary Zeta friends until just recently.

I don't get it either, but there is (was) a world full of these Zidiots and their pathologically credulous fellow travelers.

Is there any kookery they won't swallow?

NL is going to be on the Lou Gentile show (that's the only constant in her life) on April 29th.

If you want, you can view her "supporting data" for that show. Word of caution, please remove all liquids from the immediate vicinity of your monitor and keyboard. I do not want to be held responsible for a surge in monitor and keyboard replacements.

I like that term - "Zidiots." Can I borrow that from you, John Jones?

Sorry if this strays off topic, but I saw a ST:Voyager episode called "Bride of Chaotica" in which Torres says to Janeway: "think of it as a first contact between the Federation and Planet X"

I wonder if the writing staff had a few closet Ziodiots...

Be my guest. I can't be sure I was the first to coin the term "Zidiot", but I did it without help.

I was debating to put this here or in `its a joke right' thread-seems suitable for both

Surely if you are going to start a conspiracy theory it is best to start with something that might have a grain of truth or reality in it. To start with the preposterous and go downhill from there is just stupid. steve(primus) (Avatar)

It seems that Ms. Lieder should pick up a copy of this play.

Quote:
The play is a series of actions that are aborted and that give a despairing uniformity to its duration.
Appears to be quite fitting to me.
