I figured this was the place to ask a question that makes me wonder...
I read in a yahoo group that NASA is reporting that Planet "X" is visible over New Zealand. What do you all think about that? Is NASA telling the truth or is NASA lying? I really want to find out when Planet "X" will be visible to people in the northern hemisphere. Is NASA now going back to their original reporting back in 1983,when they first sighted and announced it? Wow...can you share any new information about this with me? |

Hi Kimberley-- I have written a series of pages about Planet X. You can read them here. The upshot is: there is no planet headed our way next year. The people who are promoting this are wrong.

As for the 1983 "sighting", check out what Phil writes here: http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/misc...ence.html#iras |

But eclipses of the sun are commonly spoken of as being visible only from such-and-such a place, like "over most of North America". And they show a neat little map, too, with the path of the visibility all laid out, and it shows that there are places where you won't be able to view the eclipse.
