Default Nigel Short, English chess Grand Master, and the UFO

I was just reading the chess base stories, and found this.

The story is about Nigel Short and him losing his newspaper slot, but the article goes on more about his trip to Greece, a car crash and then the unintentional photo of a 'UFO' (you will need to scroll down a bit for the images).

Considering the brainiac level of that site, a stupid quote - if it _is_ unknown, then it is a UFO...

I can't work out what it is, but it definitely isn't a bird.

Could be anything. But if an honest pic, it could actually be a bird, if seen tail- or head-on - it suggests to me, in that case, a small raptor - a kite or something like that, hovering on updrafts. On the other hand it could be a frisbee at close range.

But there isn't even any of the usual commentary by witnesses familiar with the local fauna who inevitably say that they've never seen anything like it before in their lives.

Hardly counts as even a dubious sighting.

Sad, however, to hear of Nigel being dropped by the Torygraph. Shows where they're going...

The speck is so tiny in relation to the original image that I'd be tempted to say it was a dust speck that got in the development process.

Edited to add: Found this site, with a lot of references for optical in-camera, flash, film, and print effects.
