You have too much time on your hands my friend. I find your posts really boring.

Boring and silly actually. I have to admit Extrasense, that you have an incredibly active imagination, however your techniques are wanting.
You are only looking at two shot taken with two different filters. 90 seconds is enough time for the sun to move, changing the shadows and angle of reflection. Furthermore, 90 seconds is the time it takes for the rover to change its filter. A short lesson on rover images. An image is taken and transmitted to Earth. The image team waits for the new image to download, then takes a look at different features in the image. The rover is usually commanded to take a series of images using different filters. This takes a bit of time. As the new images come down the image team reviews them to see what the composition of the landscape around the rover is made of. If there is something interesting--like say, a rock showing a different thermal emission, the team will radio a command to the rover to take a second series of images, or move towards the object, or whatever they decide. Once again, they wait for the new images or information to be downloaded, review it for anything interesting, then decide the next step they want the rover to take. Your suggestion that the images you have transposed somehow reflect anything other than a change of sunlight angle are laughable. I an beginning to agree with the comment that this does not belong in the alternative theories forum--we don't have a joke forum, so maybe the "other topics" forum. Anyone disagree?

Concerning your scenario for how NASA chooses to reshoot an image, you make it sound like they do it more quickly than they actually do. They give a bunch of orders to take images, and store them up. Sometimes they don't actually see the images for several days. They need to transmit the images to an orbiting craft, such as MGS, and then schedule a download session to a tracking station for that craft.

Actually Antoniseb, they can communicate in the space of a few minutes when they choose to and when the planet isn't blocking direct transmission. The rovers both have high-gain antennas which allow direct communication with Earth, although you are still talking about a turn-around time of several 10's of minutes.
You are right though, the bulk of the image transfers are done via orbiting probes.

So,
the majority opinion seems to be, that: 1. NASA babes did not get to Mars yet 2. The big crustation/fossil that they are playing inside, is a rock 3. That playing inside is an illusion, produced by changing filters This is why a collective is not good in science at all ES |

Actually, it is why a collective results in the best science. Stops the interpretation of one person from being accepted without critiscim or debate.
Like this thread--you post your pictures, we all look and see them as BS, you see conspiracy. I still don't see your nasa babies by the way. I liked the skull, that was pretty good. The lamb or pig or whatever was stupid. The ice-cream cone or whatever was plain ridiculous. It is fun to look at the pictures though, right?

John, that's exactly the point I made in one of ES's other ridiculous topics. Anyone can see clouds in the shape of dragons, but that doesn't mean the clouds really ARE dragons.
Again, as I've said before, anyone with a bit of imagination can look at these photos and see things that aren't there and come up with the most ridiculous ideas as a result. They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing - a little imagination can be a lot worse!

Well, Anton, you know what I meant! <_< :P
If ES makes 100 posts about this same insane topic I'll be ****ed. But it's unlikely poor ES will ever regain insanity (and by "re" I still think he/she never had sanity).

StarLab, you're using *another* name? See, this is my point: having 4 or 5 different names just causes confusion. I knew who you were because I can see your IP number and you responded to anton as though you were StarLab.
RE NoSense, I did my part to stop her.

You know what, DH...
So what if he responds like I do? So what if the IP is the same for a few users? It shouldn't make a difference! Hey, at least you know who we/they are! Although, DH, that last post I made should have been under the username StarLab...sorry if I had confused you there. Quote:

IP's aren't identical for two different users using two different PC's unless it's in a shared environment. You've said yourself you use different usernames. All I'm saying is that it's confusing for everyone and that you should probably just stick to one username.

OKay, well, like I said elsewhere, I don't mean to get on your case, I just want to avoid any confusion for the other users. Thanks.
