The Epocandara Project.
A powerful corporation formed by some of the worlds greatest physicists, scientists, and aeronautical engineers, studying and researching time travel theories and principals for decades now. Epocandara is based somewhere in the desert of New Mexico in the USA. The total cost of the project is over $5 billion dollars, and the investors wish to stay anonymous.
The project has been going on secretly for more than a decade and it was kept secret until today.
The project is mainly based on the General Theory of Relativity. An extension of Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity. The theory supports the fact that in space there is a complex system of “field equations” that has been a problem to be solved for many physicists in the past years.
These complicated equations have been solved through these years by the professors involved in The Epocandara Project. The solutions to these equations permit what are called “closed time-like curves”. A curved path through space can wind up being a curved path through time. In order to travel along these curves with absolute precision a specially designed spaceship is needed, that will actually be able to accelerate at great speeds to break the barrier of sound while travelling along the “curved” timeline. This spacecraft has been already developed by Epocandara, and its believed to be one of a kind. The great advantage of the Epocandara spaceship is that its equipped with a new form of high frequency censors that will act as magnets and will keep it on the right path, while travelling at extraordinary speeds.
The project is expected to be complete at the end of 2005. Simulations have already been made.
The first attempts of time travel will be basic trials to test the process and spot any problems in the project, if any. In these first attempts there will not be a human on board, but a communication kit instead that will include special cameras, microphones and other electronic devices that will help in analyze the journey. The first time that a human will get on board will be in at least 5 years.
More details will be posted soon.

It would be good to keep works of fiction like this off the forum.

I don't believe it exists either (until I see proof) but please Anton tell my why it can't exist.

I'm willing to wait for an empirical proof:

In the mean time, you tell me why it can exist. Do you think it's more remarkable that they built a spaceship that can break the sound barrier, or that the person writing this stuff doesn't realize [or think the readers realize] that the space shuttle already goes 25 times faster than sound.

The rest is just double talk. What do you think a curved path through time is?

Or in the appropriate section?

Cheers.

We don't have an appropriate section for this.

If we had a section for fiction, and wild ideas that wither immediately before the flame of observation and measurement, this would go there. This is in the same category as the idea that Venus was ejected from Saturn, and caused upheavals on Earth during human history. It is pure fiction.

Incorrect, if evidence is shown that would make an idea work it isn't fiction anymore, just like Starlab said.

Cheers.

In neither case has any workable evidence been shown, but the main point here is the time machine, not Velikovsky's ravings.

You started with the Venus comment, and I didn't say either of these examples had enough evidence, I said if there is evidence then it isn't fiction anymore.
Maybe if you want to talk about Velikovsky you could start a new thread.

Cheers.
