Of course, Wright ignores reconstruction of the wavefront by Huygens' secondary wavelets as the group velocity travels through the transparent intergalactic medium.
Neither can Wright explain the RHESSI gamma ray red shift on the sun of nearly 1% that varies with the mass of the species in the spectrum during a solar flare. These arguments and supporting references are on my website and are not meant to be ad hominem, which is why I don't reference Wright. The lack of time dilation in quasar variability is one of the strongest arguments for an intrinsic quasar redshift. The intrinsic gamma ray redshift of the sun flare can be extended to the quasar case.

Aside: It's an interesting coincidence that I did some work on the RHESSI spacecraft at Spectrum Astro on a consulting basis. It has a very interesting nutation damper design, much different from the partially-fluid-filled hoop we used on CRRES and other Ball Aerospace spacecraft.
