This is my first time posting anything on the forum, but I have been following this Planet X nonsense for quite some time. It seems to me that the answer to this whole thing is quite simple... just wait. After a few more deadlines slip by without the world ending, people who believe in Planet X will probably either stop talking about it or, even better, stop believing in it completely.

Well, at least I hope that this would happen. You never can tell what the Zetans will say.

Default Guessing Mrs. Leiders excuse.

Would be kinda fun to guess in what kind of excuse she will come up with.
I think she will say that the Zetans were just testing "us" or perhaps the governments..
Or maybe the distance between us and the aliens is so large that they have miscalculated the timing in ther communications.

Default Jigsaw, that was beautiful

I'm impressed with your dedication and your typing skills. Not so much with Nancy's argument-constructing abilities.

Of course, the most damning thing about this interview is that we're all of us around to read it... I guess I managed to miss it when "they" stopped the Earth's rotation. Or whatever.

ok, she needs either proffessional help with her voices or a lawsuit.

Apart from that she is rather americocentric, there are other countries out there. Her conspiracies just seem to involve the US government/Navy (what has she got against the Navy???), i don't think we are ruled by the US here in the UK (leave it!) and certainly the rest of the world, oh boy

I still can't figure out what she was getting at with the talk about mammoths found in northern Finland. Besides, no-one here seems to know about any discovery of that kind. I couldn't make out the age she gave for the animals, so can't really say whether they died during the thaw period or not.
(btw, I have photographic evidence of green grass and buttercups growing in Lapland. :P )

I know I'm very late to the party, but...

Nancy: Yeah, Phil, how do you explain frozen, ah, mammoths bodies up in Wrangell Island, in the, and the, northern Finland, with green grass and buttercups in their stomachs and teeth and the like,
I just cracked up. I'm laughing my something off literally!

Although I appreciate the sentiment, plase watch your language. Read the FAQ, posted at the top of every page of this board.

Did I really "um" and "er" that much? Yikes. Better work on that. It reads much worse than it sounds.
I wouldn't worry too much over it. On the one hand, it happens so naturally in the course of conversation most people listening aren't consciously aware of them, unless the vocal pauses are exaggerated. Its also a normal byproduct of spotaneous conversation as a means of placeholding a statement while your mind catches up and completes the thought you're trying to express, kind of a way to indicate that you're still in mid-statement, even if you're not producing cogent information. Psychologically, a literal silent pause might be taken in some circles as havnig finished your statement, so using vocalizations to hold the floor, so to speak, actually works in your favor. Given the nature of your adversary in this one, I doubt you could ever be 100% prepared for everything she might come up with, so having to sound out a solid response that's not worded as an ad hominem will take a mental draft or two to phrase.

Some of the ums and whatnot you used may also have root in the situation at hand. I'm very sure that in a straightforward conversation on Astronomy with someone capable of critical thought and who's mind was solidly anchored in the real world, you'd be able to answer points without half the pauses you used in this one.
