If you look at the photos there is one where the object is a point, and in this picture the foreground trees are in focus. The other two photos showing the wobbly streak are the result of the camera moving whilst the exposure is still being made. It is easy to see this because all the foreground objects seem to be exposed over several parts of the photo (compare the shapes of the two sets of foreground objects and you will find that they match).

I think this is either a case of deliberate deception or the photographer is just thick....

Anyway welcome to the board!

First off, welcome to the forum! Good to have you here at this time.

To me, those photos could literally be anything. Double Helix following it he says? To me it looks alot like he hasn't used a tripod... oh, here is the address of the pictures:

http://groups.msn.com/skywatch

Don't worry about it... it's pathetic he's even trying. And he posted in CAPSLOCK on the GodLike Productions forum. All credibility has gone out of the window already!

Unfortunately your link is giving me a "Cannot Find Server". I'm assuming it's from the Godlike server having bandwidth stress.

Unless of course it's Planet X...

I assume you're talking about the pictures at http://groups.msn.com/skywatch

None of the photos have enough quality to prove or disprove a thing - they look handheld, taken with a cheap camera. From the look of the daytime photos, it could be Venus or Mercury - they ought to be around there somewhere (no, I'm not up to date on where they are right now)

Frankly, most of the photos are vague enough that we can't tell what they're supposed to show. Without anything more to go on, it could be a plane, a bird, or lint on the lens (that's what it looked like to me at first).

As for the SOHO images on the same site, I'll leave them to people who know how to interpret them.

..One question 'skywatcher'.....I would like to give you the benefit of the doubt, but is it just a coincidence that whoever posted that message at the 'Godlike Productions' forum gave a link to view the pics of http://groups.msn.com/skywatch.....
....It would seem your chosen 'handle' and that of the owner of said site share certain, shall we say, uncanny similarities........
....Mind you, if you aren't the one who 1) uploaded the pics, then/or 2) gave the link on 'Godlike' it's no problem....But, you begin by stating that you just 'happened to notice' that post there and a dishonest statement will not sit well with most here.....
....Again, I'm sure we would all like to give you the benefit of the doubt, but I'm sure you can understand the point.......
....Would you mind clarifying this for me?.....

(edited because my fingers are occasionally hard-of-hearing)

They are mistaken or deliberately making fun of believers.

Do you seriously think that anyone can hide a planet four times as big as earth? If so, then it's likely that no one here can help you.

Then go to your safe place.

Why do you not believe Phil?

How is this planet escaping the attention of thousands of amateur astronomers?

Every time there is anything odd in the sky there are lots of UFO reports about it.

Now there is a large red pulsating ball in the sky and no one cares.

Okay, man.

The pics are terrible, and I see nothing except a photog who had too much caffeine and got the shakes.

Default Skywatcher.....

...Although it's understandable, to a degree, to be upset.....but only if you choose to be.....Look at the facts (and this is just a very short list of them):
1) PX, as described, would be cearly vidible to anone who looked at the sky......it's not.
2) Photos of PX, as described, would not need anyone to 'look at them' to tell what they were.....All that have offered are so easily proven to be false, or are too vague to be considered PX.....
3) Lastly (on this list, anyway) Nancy/Zetas said the earth's rotation would slow to a point that the sunset on May 20th (yesterday) would be over two hours late......and the rotation coming to a halt by now (I believe)....None of that has happened.....

...In short, Nancy's PX has proven to be exactly what Phil and many, many others have always said it would be.....impossible as described and a 'non event'.......
...So, relax.....and unpack you survival gear...

Default OK....So I managed to read them.....

....I read all of the replies and one thing strikes me as very curious....All of the 'OH WOW' and 'MY GOODNESS, THIS IS FOR REAL' replies are from unregistered posters and spaced out fairly evenly....as if the same person posted them.....No proof that's the case, of course, just an observation....
...Also, it's worth noting that 'botannica' from Florida is the same individual on the IRC chats a couple of days ago who didn't understand why the sun was setting later each day, and the days were getting longer.....Further, he/she argued that Spring and moving towards the longest day fo the year (Summer eqinox) had nothing whatsoever to do with a difference of one or two minutes per day......
...That, in itself, doesn't make him/her a bad photographer, but it does say something about his/her objectivity, IMHO......
..I also noted that many of the 'regulars' there, who were logged in and who said they had studied the photos, found nothing out of the ordinary.....If a regular at 'Godlike' can't find something strange, there's not a ghost of a chance anyone else would.....

Default Peace

99.9% of people coming here with the "should I be afraid?" posts may just be trolls, driving traffic to their particular hoax or whatever. Be that as it may, take the question at face value and go over those answers one more time.

There is a single primary source saying Planet X is coming. Nancy Lieder, believes or claims to believe she is in contact with alien intelligences who told her. They also told her that the world would stop rotating last night, so I think we can rest easy about that one.

Two, with regard to all the images and "sightings." Look, we live in a world where people will email you a file designed to mess with your computer and spread itself to others, or even just try to make you forward it to five friends for some stupid reason. People like to make an impact, even if it's a stupid, pointless, and irresponsible impact. There are exactly two sources of the images: honest mistakes and fakes. How do we know? because real, reliable stellar imaging techniques have demonstrated that the Planet simply ain't there. The planets are following their correct courses, the lunar eclipse was right on time, the sun rose as expected this morning, and the whole thing is basically now a non-issue.

Just go to the badastronomy.com main page and look for the Planet X nutshell. You'll find it concise, complete, and reasonable. Then ask: if I am allowing myself to be frightened because of the ravings of a self-proclaimed alien contactee, whose predictions are demonstrably wrong, instead of the reasonable, simple explanations of a scientist, what does this say about me? All should become clear.

Having finally got the link to work and look at the pictures, I am please to say it looks like somebody can't take pictures. I have absolutely hundreds of pictures like this where I was leaving my camera shutter open trying to take a long exposure, and then bumped my tripod. If I were to hazard a guess, it looks like either venus or Jupiter, and then the trail was enhanced in a photo editing software. The black one with just a spec of light in the middle looks like the same thing, except they waited until it was darker to take the picture.

Skywatcher, you should know that in the Age of Photoshop, a photo doesn't count for much. A picture of "mostly black with a tiny red dot" in the middle could be a picture of anything--it could even be manufactured using MS Paint.

Are these msn.group pictures ones that you've taken yourself? What were you pointing the camera at when you took this one?
http://groups.msn.com/skywatch/shoeb...oto&PhotoID=16

If they aren't pictures that you took yourself, and you aren't "Steve", then how do you know that "Steve", being a tremendous practical joker perhaps, didn't just make them up in Paint, and post them to poke fun at all the Planet X True Believers out there?

So, are these your pictures or not?

If they're "Steve's" pictures, how do you know where he got them? How do you know he didn't deliberately post fake pix just to get folks all worked up?

I'm surprised. I've seen more convincing photos that were proven fakes or just misconceptions. These types of photos are a dime a dozen. Take a look at any UFO or Paranormal site and you will usually find photos exactly like these claiming they're UFOs' or ghostly orbs.

It's hoaxers.

Look how many hoaxers there were who faked pictures for Nancy. This is just the work of more hoaxers (or people who don't understand cameras.)

No, we don't know what causes some people to get their thrills by hoaxing others -- but they do.

Default SOmeone enlarged the picture with Photo software and this is

what they see, any ideas on this I am really starting to wonder seriously no puns...

http://members.frys.com/~psycheus someone from godlike actually said the following

These pics are very, very interesting. Especially the night one!

Looked at them in photopaint. You can see the īstarsī in the night one along with the īredī larger star. Everybody needs to copy these from his link and do this for themselves. No one is going to believe me.

And you have way too many disinfo artists and stupid types on this thread right now to make any sense of it without doing it for yourself.

Indeed, the very fact that they are here for 6 pages worth should tell you something!

Iīm voting these pics are for real! PX? Comet? donīt know. But that night one is pretty awesome.

Gah, I just defended you in another thread from being called a troll and you keep sticking your head in the sand. I recant my previous statements in your defense.

Those pictures:

a) have no reference points
b) could easily be done in photoshop. I bet girl101 could drum one up in her sleep.
c) aren't even consistent with themselves

That could be anything. I could go outside tonight, throw a potato in the air, photograph it on the way down and come up with more convincing pictures than that. Why are people so easily fooled? My guess, because they want to be.
