Sigh..Isnt PX by the sun now,not Jupiter? So Id assume that is one of Jupiters moons, like Io,but I dont know for sure. As for the rest of the pictures, such as the first one on http://community.webshots.com/album/75089621mnQoSK That "red spot' seems like a flare to me,because it was a live cam during the time and that spot never moved at all.

It's a picture of Jupiter superimposed over a picture of the Earth's moon. Somebody created this picture. It was not taken by the person who posted it.

Enough already. sheeesh.

You know what it looks like to me? A very shoddily edited picture of the Earth's moon behind Jupiter. i.e.: FAKE PICTURE

(Edited for clarity)

What's even worse, the Jovian moons don't even line up with the Jovian equator! A (poorly done) cut and paste job

skywatcher, your credibility here is already zero. Are you trying for negative numbers? :-?

I like the second picture in the series:

http://community.webshots.com/photo/...75091579OhwiDc

It looks like someone is shining a laser pointer into the camera lens.

Yeah, this site is really credible. It's full of semi-pornographic pictures.

(I won't post a link, I might get banned. If you want proof, look for yourself. It's not hard to find)

skywatcher: read This post carefully!

If you are too lazy, here is what is says:

"The Bad Astronomer wrote: [snip] Skywatcher, I am starting to come to the conclusion that you are not here to ask questions or discuss this reasonably; you are here to affirm prior beliefs, stir up commotion, and point to websites that left critical thinking behind months ago. As this board's admin, let me say that this is a combination that will certainly put you in hot water read. Read the FAQ. It's at the top of every page."

In looking at a number of your posts and your MO, a question comes to mind. I must ask if you work with or are in fact Kent Steadman?

Here is some more "proof" for you, Skywatcher...

http://www.geocities.com/amberhawk20...bleImages.html

Amazing what can be done in 10 minutes using Microsoft Paint and along with some pseudo-scientific nonsense.

I wonder what your reaction would have been had you seen this on Godlike. :-?

You should put it up on Godlike, see if they believe you. What do I mean "if"?

Actually; I think that's one of the HAL 9000's big ol' glowing camera eyeballs.

Hmmm... redshifting... I guess the train was going backwards. Explains why the photographer didn't get turned into a fine red mist.

That's what I get for not doing 2 minutes of research before return-joking.
No, really - that pic is so vague - at least to me - that I have no idea what it's supposed to be; it looks like HAL's lens to me. Any info on what it actually is?

Well the name of the pic is "picdubure-redplanet", so I assume it's suppossed to be some sort of red planet. By which they obviously mean PX. But when was the last time you saw a planet glow like that?
