Step 1.) Get up in the morning or night
Step 2.) Go outside
Step 3.) Look at Mercury.See it? I sure have.

Let's see, Mercury is supposed to be low in the east in the mornings at the present time.

Surprise!! It's right there, faint, a little to the right of the much brighter Venus. Whew!! The Solar system remains intact.

Default The sad state of astronomy education

Within the silly thread is the following post (edited for length and language, emphasis added):

So, just 6-7 short weeks later it passes by Soho again. No some plates from Swede showed Mercury passing in the opposite direction, clockwise. So not only did Mercury pass us (our eye on the sun) twice within a 7 week period (which is not 88 days) but it came back in the opposite direction.

So all you Masonic Satanists and Nasa goons, [bad word] off! We kno what we have seen. We are not blind and we are not stupid.
So, your quiz for today. The odd behavior of Mercury, re-entering the LASCO field of view half of the purported orbital period later and travelling in the opposite direction is due to:

1) Aliens

2) Planet X

3) Observing a planet in a nearly-circular orbit from near the orbital plane.

Man, people getting worried because they see exactly what one would expect to see if all was right with the solar system...

Once again, their sheer lack of astronomical knowledge and the position of the planets in the night skies shines through. Yet more proof not to even venture there! Still, it's a good laugh until someone believes them and begins to worry needlessly. There was a large CME yesterday, quite beautiful too, but not unique in size. As always, check out the 'Best of SOHO' images on the SOHO website and you'll see far more amazing pictures.

Skytroll (watcher), why do you insist?

You've already brought this topic up... Though your attitude has shifted....

Ha! Mercury was there before the begining of time! (well...okay okay...) Why wasn't it BLOWN UP in one of the other PX orbits every 3,657 1/2 (whatever) years? Ask them THAT! ...nevermind. Don't ask (don't tell)

The fourth density? What's all that? And how about Earth's dead twin on the other side of the sun? Jeesh

Anybody ever read the really bad, mysoginistic sci fi books of Gor, that other planet on the other side of the Sun from the Earth? I know some people who base their whole lives on the philosophy in those books. Scary, really.

The 4th density is where the Zetas live. They get to that density by drinking slimfast.

I thought I was the only one that read those...30(?) years ago? Didn't realise people actually went for that stuff though, but some people go for all kinds of weird stuff, eh?
I DID think the way they treated their women was a pretty good...*ow ow ow!!!* (oops, didn't see my wife standing behind me)
