Hmmmmm....it appears that Ron Levin has the same capacity for wishful thinking, exaggerated claims and incompetent work as does his father Gilbert.
One wonders how he could have made such an embarrassing mistake that was this easy to expose: http://www.newscientist.com/blog/spa...s-on-mars.html http://planetary.org/blog/article/00000998/ Of course, this whole sorry affair illustrates the folly of self-appointed imaging "specialists" attempting to engage in "research" into subjects for which they are wholly unqualified for. Mr. Levin is a "physicist," not a geologist or planetary scientist. He has no business pretending to conduct serious research into this subject matter. And the IEEE, which for years has served as a vehicle for Gil Levin to spout his nonsense about finding life on Mars, should know better. Obviously, there was no real peer review involved in the presentation of Levin's so-called "puddles" on Mars.

What does "Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers" have to do with this thread?
Added: "Journal reference: R. L. Levin and Daniel Lyddy, Investigation of possible liquid water ponds on the Martian surface (2007 IEEE Aerospace Applications Conference Proceedings, paper #1376, to be published in IEEE Xplore)" I see now. ![]()
