Default Nov 8 Lunar Eclipse Harmonic Convergence?!?!

Anyone catch a load of this one?

http://www.worldpuja.org/EVENTS/events.html

Apparently it's not cool enough that there's going to be a total lunar eclipse on the night of Nov 8-9, somebody had to also claim that there'd be an impossible planetary alignment --"a geometrically perfect six sided (Star of David) configuration ... [of] the Sun, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Chiron and the Moon"-- and that if we all go "Om" at the beginning of the lunar eclipse at 8:13 EST --I believe 8:05 is when totality actually begins, and 8:16 is the peak-- then we'll have "planetary activation" --whatever that is.

Any comments or thoughts?

A six sided star? From what reference point? This just keeps getting weirder and weirder...

BTW, welcome to the board!

Thanks, been reading the main page for a while, and something finally got me enough to start a post.

Maybe it's geometrically perfect if viewed from the higher state of consciousness (read: gullibility) these believers certainly have.

Oh yes, the "fourth density." Boy, oh boy, what's next?

ugh I've heard about this.....

'they' (woo-woo's) have also related MLS observatory to be at the 19 degree in the "6 pointed star'.

every event will have a 'special' meaning to them..........they can find something in nothing....and everything else in everything.

welcome

Chiron? Chiron? He means the 15th magnitude 200 km wide chunk of ice 10 AU out? Geez, if he wants to set the bar that low, there must be other objects that would fit better. There are hundreds of solar system objects brighter than that! Silly.

BUT... it also happens during a total lunar eclipse, so you just know that it has to be really really really significant.

I'm not sure but I think they retracted that in favor of a less silly alignment:

hmm! did none of these dingbats learn anything from Y2K , 03/05/00 [ as schreeched by richard noone ] or any or the other failed alignment prophescies - why do they keep ramping up the complexity requiremennts

at least this crew will have the get out that we debunkers chanted a " counter OOM " to negate thier positive OOM

It means that we'll activate the planet, and it'll continue to exist. Sounds fair to me.

Woah, what are these guys smoking? It must be some pretty heavy stuff. Also, how can you transfer energy through the internet? I'll never understand these astrolger types. This also sounds like a constelation and nothing more.

Well it's easy to transfer energy through the Internet (read phone and cable lines as well as a bit of fibreoptic cable). That's how it works.

But I doubt that electricity and light are the kind of "energy" that these people are talking about...

Just so's you know, I've been researching this topic a bit. If I have time this weekend, I'll write up a page. The astronomy behind this bit of New Age silliness is actually rather funny, more than simply picking a distant faint iceball to round out the pentagram... but I'm not telling any more. You'll have to wait. [-(

Phil, if you need more references, here are some links from a GLP thread.

http://www.1one1.ca/gcl/concord/article.html

http://www.penwing.com/nov8-2.html

http://www.astroscapes.com/astrology%20news.htm

They have apparently decided that Chiron "counts" astrologically as a planet, no idea why, other than it fits their diagram.

And it doesn't look like it's a "pack your bags and flee for the hills!" PX-type crisis--they're only expecting "planetary activation" and "harmonic convergence".

Thanks. I hadn't seen those links, though I have a few I have been perusing. I haven't bothered doing a google search yet, but I will.

I will admit, this "alignment" is interesting, in a sort-of "huh, look at that" sort of way (as opposed to any real significance), but I will give you a broad hint: there is a factor they completely forgot to look at which ruins the alignment totally. It's so obvious I think most people would overlook it. I need to check my numbers, but I am pretty sure I have it right.

In fact, there are two problems with the "alignment". Another hint: the angles between the objects, if measured with the correct coordinate system, are in fact very close to being 60 degrees each. But there's more to it than that... 8)

Ding ding ding!

That's one. Chiron's elevation off the ecliptic plane is about 38 degrees.

Next?

What part of the object are they measuring from, and does it make a big enough difference? (I mean, are they measureing from the center of each object, or just whatever point they want to make their numbers close enough.)

Since there haven't been any guesses in a while, I guess I'll just point you to my debunking of this situation. Disharmonious Noncordance. But if you go to my main page, you'll see an example of my punning wit and Photoshop skills. WolfKC, watch out! I'm catching up to you!

A phrase came into my mind while reading that page:

Phil,
It might be interesting to note that this harmonic convergence is fringe even to the New Age movement.

How did you find these whack jobs? Or did you get it as an e-mail?

Ever think of getting a T-shirt that says "What am I, flypaper for freaks?"
