I think it would be electromagnetic radiation. But, it's possible dreadlocked might mean something else.

To be sure, badminton is easier. For that, there's a permanent coart, but it isn't really up to tennis.

ok, in the spirit of keeping an open mind here and now that the subject has been broached, I guess my next line of curiosity would be to find out what the Plasma Universe people would see as significant about 2012

As a professional in the "plasma universe" (yes also mainstream physicist use the term plasma universe, however not in the definition of Thunderbolts cs.) there is absolutely NOTHING significant about 2012. I would also guess that even Thunderbolts does not get into the rediculous 2012 hype of the other woowoos.

Also, do not forget that it has already been shown that the "galactic alignment" supposedly happening in 2012 already took place in 1998. I will give the source for this later, because I don't have it on this laptop.

Care to enlighten us what you are actually looking for?

Jean Meeus, in his Mathematical Astronomy Morsels, pegged the solstice points on the galactic equator on May 1998.

For ANLWhip: Note that was a visual alignment in the sky, which is what the 2012 fuss has been fabricated about: shame they couldn't do the maths.
The Sun's orbit carries it through the galactic disc's gravitational centre-plane every 33 million years or so: we crossed it a couple of million years ago, and are heading away from it at present.
Neither of these events has any particular gravitational effect on the Earth.

I'm real new to this site (in fact this is my first post). And I know the name is Bad Astronomy and Universe Today forum. I'm assuming that's meant tho be humorous.

This seems a fairly easy subject overall for the individual to prove/disprove for themself. Could someone please list the math to determine the Galactic Plane and the position of Solar System (specifcally Earth) in relationship to the plane. As I understand it, the Earth traverses the plane several times over its life. As such it should be fairly simple to calculate when that has previously occurred and will occur again.

The Geological record contains much evidence of catastrophies occurring on Earth. It should be an easy matter to check the date of a catastrophy to passing through the Galaptic Plane.

Of course, I realize that even if catastrophies match up with such passage that does mean this passage is responsible. There is no determined causal link between event and results. Making such a jump would be the intellectual equivalent of blaming Global Warming on cell phones.
