Can you show us some proof of them being a repository for life?

Wiolawa, unlike on GLP, when someone comes here and makes extraordinary claims, we demand extraordinary evidence. Provide it, please. I also don't care much for simple links to websites without explanation. Read the FAQ.

But if life formed so quickly on Earth and there was little in the way of water and carbon-based molecules on the Earth's surface, then how were these building blocks of life delivered to the Earth's surface so quickly? The answer may involve the collision of comets and asteroids with the Earth, since these objects contain abundant supplies of both water and carbon-based molecules.

Once the early rain of comets and asteroids upon the Earth subsided somewhat, subsequent impacts may well have delivered the water and carbon-based molecules to the Earth's surface - thus providing the building blocks of life itself. It seems possible that the origin of life on the Earth's surface could have been first prevented by an enormous flux of impacting comets and asteroids, then a much less intense rain of comets may have deposited the very materials that allowed life to form some 3.5 - 3.8 billion years ago.

Comets have this peculiar duality whereby they first brought the building blocks of life to Earth some 3.8 billion years ago and subsequent cometary collisions may have wiped out many of the developing life forms, allowing only the most adaptable species to evolve further.
Granted, it's not "starships full of alien reptilians looking for planets to seed", but still...

Yup iv'e hered of that one. :-)
Very intertesting. It will be very cool if we are able to land a carft on one and drill in to see exactly what they contain.

Default AIR PHOTOS or ANALYSIS FROM SATELLITES

Variance ANALYSIS.. is similar to what i studied with DR. HEnkel in AIR PHOTO... in geography at ASU.. we had to look from various heights and stereoscopic glasses to study topography of the earth..

how do you suppose the people who run the satellites and can see your watch and read the time.. do this.? a series of images that come closer to your watch.. and are enlarged.. this is not a mystery science but one that has been around for quite awhile.. its also an immense science.. because i can only pull and tease out objects.. that sometimes are enormous as in the comet LINEAR i analyzed tonite.. a huge comet and protocol ships along with it.. and by no means can i do the entire ship.. or insides.. just a small sliver..

Problem is, using enlargements to look at terrain features on a high quality image from a satelite is very different than looking at individual objects from a fake colour image from mars.

But if you want to contuinue. Please give us some of this evidence for the comet, so we can talk about it.

No. People who will "read your watch" from space do not download an image from the internet and enlarge it with photoshop. It doesn't work (surprise surprise). The image begins with appropriate resolution. What you're doing is like asking me to zoom in on something with my naked eye.

I don't have any zoom ability, but I can see beyond visible light. Anyone talks to me about Mars in true colour and I roll my eyes at them - all the way through the spectra.

How do they read the time on your watch? I've no idea. Maybe they've stuck the Keck in LEO; I wasn't aware that any known satellite had a resolving power close to this.

It's only those secret black ops satellites that we aren't supposed to know about.

I've seen examples of newspaper headline reading from orbit, but still, too much TV/movie influence here. You can't just take an image, increase the image size and get a clear zoomed in image no matter what CSI or, crud what was that movie, Conspiracy Theories wants you to believe. The program has to guess at what color pixels to put in the spaces the blowing up of the image caused which does little more than blur the image. And if you blow up the image, select a region, blow that up, repeat, soon you're into the realm where most of the pixels in the image were never in the original picture, just an algorithm's best guess.

Now NASA did recently do some neat tricks to that carwash security video of the kidnapping couple weeks ago, but, to my eye at least, it went from pretty grainy to fairly grainy, not read the guy's shirt label.

Asking Wio to explain something is like asking Nancy Leider where PX is located. You get near gibberish responses, Wio's being worse than Nancy's. I think they are twins, separated at birth...

And the evidence is what, exactly? All that photo says to me is that ice is shiny. Not exactly breaking news, that.

But...but...can't you SEE the alien protocol ships being towed behind it, in the tail? Bah, you are so blinded by the light of reason that you are...blind!! Hahahahahaha!

I thought the aliens were supposed to be in the nucleus? You know, after it's been put through every free Photoshop filter avaliable, and then embossed. And then zoomed in on. More. More. More. Yeah, right there. Yup, there they are. Little cartoon worms, sticking their tongues out at us.

Obviously, this is a sign that God is in fact Walt Disney.

Yup. That's one nice comet ol' Walt's got there.

Wow, you put it through an emboss filter and then saw lines? Shocking.

Coming up next: How the use of edge enhancement on my DVD of Buffy demonstrates that there is a halo around Alyson Hannigan, because she is a Goddess.
