Hi. I'd like to know if those view capturing binos (Nikon etc.) with little LCD screen and a resolution of about 3 Mpixels I guess can be useful for astronomy.
What I imagine (but maybe I'm too optimistic) is, that you mount them, record an area of the sky and then later analyze the picture, looking for comets, novae etc.
That requires two things:
1.) The resolution should allow faint starry objects to be reproduced.
2.) The brightness of the captured view/still should match that what you see, in other words: A WYSIWYG system.
Do they perform that well?
