With the exception of Stairway to Heaven, what is/are your favorite Led Zeppelin song(s)?

"How Many More Times"

Toss-up between 'In my time of dying' and 'When the Levee breaks'!

If pushed, I'd go for 'dying', just because there's more of it!

problem is, there's just too much material to choose from... :(

III: Immigrant song
IV: Stairway to heaven (only song I like from this album)
V...: No additions to this list

Oh, yes...!

I went to a laser show in St. Louis (Missouri, not Oklahoma (yes, there is one!)) many (many!) years ago and the finale was this song. It was awesome.

On an interesting note, I became fond of Lord of the Rings and Led Zeppelin at the same time (yet comepletely indepentent of each other.) I had seen Fellowship of the Ring when it first came out. Then sometime before Two Towers came out I listened to [and liked] Led Zeppelin's The Battle of Evermore. I thought to myself, "This song would go well in the soundtrack of a LOTR's battle scene."

So I told my brother of my revelation (i.e., I thought this discovery was unique to me) and then he told me to listen to Ramble On with the references to Gollum and Mordor. After I learned more about Led Zeppelin's fascination with LOTR, I realized that my "discovery" was not that unique at all.

It would be neat, though, if someone were to edit together clips of The Battle of Pelennor Fields (or all battle sequencces in LOTR) sync'ed with Led Zeppelin's The Battle of Evermore.

Misty Mountain Hop was the first song to pop into my head.

Depending on the day, either Kashmir or Achilles' Last Stand.

A hard task to nominate only one. Well, I love "The Battle of Evermore", "Houses of the Holy", "Ramble on" and "Wanna Whole Lot of Love". The songs of the "Physical Grafitti" album are all enjoyable too.

And of course "Staiway to Heaven" is a agreat song, though the exhaustive repetition through the years have softened its impact.

Robert Plant was really a "Golden God". :)

There's no way I could pick one. Or two, or three...

I love LZ, so many good songs. I guess I would have to say my favourite song is "In the Evening" because it was the first song on side one of the first LZ album I bought.

i actually have all their albums plus remasters and studio recordings. it's what i constantly play on my iPod.
what i can really recommend is the recent released 3 cd set with live recordings (way better than 'The Song Remains The Same') and the live double DVD set. truly awesome, Led Zeppelin at their best.

True enough! No-one's mentioned a song that hasn't made me think "Oh yeah! That one too!"

"Dazed and Confused." (Oh yeah, that one too!) Real spacey, and the most hyperkinetic guitar solo.

But Mapnut, aren't you something like 53 years old?

Sure am. "Dazed and Confused" was released when I was in high school!

Even if it was ruined by someone and used for the film Godzilla.

The Led Zeppelin IV? I'm not quite sure why, and it was perhaps wrong to say I don't like it, let's just say that I like it less than first two albums. Somehow it just feels that IV doesn't have that raw energy that was present in I and II.

Who has the Led Zeppelin DVD? It has "all of the above" on it. My son bought it for me!
