Isn't Nancy and her little delusion just exceptionally old news? Other than this forum I've never seen anything about her after some flaky show well over ten years ago.

Is this board just feeding the woo woo?

She has been quite active the last 2 years, and had a large following until she foolishly made a specific prediction (arrival of PX and attendant poleshift on May 15, 2003) which, of course, did not happen.

She still runs a website and makes appearences on woo woo radio shows. She also posts occasionaly on Godlike Productions Forum, where her debunkers now outnumber her followers by 10 to one. She is having a more and more difficult time (IMO) finding things to rant about and to maintain the fabric of her delusion.

I think this forum serves a purpose as long as she has followers and continues to run her website and make public appearences.

For a good history, browse the "backpages" of this forum.

She has bounced from forum to newsgroup to forum several times over the last ten years. She's currently embarrassing herself on GLP, as noted above.

I expect she's looking for a new batch of pathologically credulous victims, as she's getting nothing but scorn and ridicule at GLP.

Nevertheless, she pounds out her increasingly incoherent gibberish like clockwork.

Mind you, this isn't a Nancy Lieder forum. There are other people still promoting this festering bit of nonsense. Like, this guy (http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/misc/mccanney/index.html), and this guy (http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/misc/planetx/hazlewood.html).

This forum is much slower than it used to be of course. Eventually it will be supplanted, or subsumed into a more general forum, but it'll be a while.

I stand amazed at the sheer amount of (dare I say it) stupidity still being shoveled around in a world where we have produced such marvels as the jet engine and within a single lifetime of that the ability to communicate with people all over the world... And still find people who will look up at the sky and be completely ignorant of what knowledge is avalible to them. Rather, they would look for new versions of pixies and spirits in their delusional belief of "telepathic aliens" and that THEY are the sole recipients of some "secret information".

How small their lives must be to be driven to such a pathological need for attention.

IMO, it gives them a sense of control over their lives in a world and universe whose workings mystify them. Excluding psychotic people, most of these woo-woos seem to be almost void of scientific/mathematical education.

Revelations are so much easier to understand when you have no scientific acumen.

Not only that, but they revel in the fact that they are not "brainwashed" by the "scientific orthodoxy"!

Why bother letting facts get in the way of their beliefs?

Well, as they say, old woowoos don't die, they just fade away.

I think this site will need to exist as long as Nancy and co. are spouting junk.
