Hmmm. My editor says the photo was taken a bit earlier, c. 8:57:48 PM. Pretty good depth-of-field for F/2.8! Of course with that 1/60 of a second exposure hopefully everyone was keeping still. Candy's eyes look as though she might have been into her ? margarita, but then perhaps it's just the effect of the flash going off 1.45 meters away.

But not to worry, Adobe Photoshop CS MacIntosh is usually bundled with the camera's software.

Seems you reworked it with some tool that doesn't preserves EXIF data. But when compared with ToSeek's, there is strong evidence that it was taken at nearly the same time (and also assuming that you didn't spent a whole evening on his lap) :-)

It is time to meet ToSeek;
Remember, don't be meek.
Remember that it's all in fun,
And you'll have a successful run.

First encounter, just fine;
No need to stand in line.
Time seems against you;
Make it work for you two.

Really, best of luck;
Bring a couple bucks.
Never know what to get;
Or indeed, what to bet!

ToSeek a wayward wanderer wandered to Windy City,
Where he met a Candied Caterer upon whom he took pity
But they had a grand old time dining in fine style on the eve,
As they discussed the days events, The Baut Forum, and each peeve.

Ok, I'm no poet, so I'll stop.

Glad you folks had a good time!

The only thing I like about the Holidays is World Head Quarters will be literally empty. The building normally consists of 1000's of middle management, so the only ones around are a handful of operational management. :)

He wants to go to Lovells of Lake Forest (restaurant). I'll have to google to see how far a drive from his hotel. It has space artifacts from Captain James Lovell, Jr. ToSeek said is owned by Lovell's son.

ToSeek called me at work. We are hooking up tomorrow after 7pm.

He wants to go to Lovells of Lake Forest (restaurant). I'll have to google to see how far a drive from his hotel. It has space artifacts from Captain James Lovell, Jr. ToSeek said is owned by Lovell's son.

I'm not sure what the hours are or if you need a reservation first. I'll call them tomorrow, too.

This should be fun!

ToChicago intrepid ToSeek
perhaps to see Candy last week
They'll meet at O'Hare
That is if they dare
(I admit that my poetry's weak.)

There's the Hancock and Tower of Sears
Both good places to have a few beers.
It's good to get giggly
and walk past the Wrigley
And look at the oddly dressed gay fellows.

It's almost the end of my pome.
as outside the Loop the kids roam
so we'll sing a chorus
to Lovell's Lake Forest
And then ToSeek wings back to home.

I don't stalk anyone, their wives just get mad! :)

Just don't do anything that would end a marriage. I've been on the other side of that, and it's the most gruelling, horrifying thing a human could ever endure.

You do that and I'll disown you forever.

I respect women too much, Gené, to interfere. I can flirt, though. :)

Here's my buddy (ToSeek) and my new buddy (son of Captain Lovell).
Junior tempted me with a cigarette. Looks like I found a new watering hole.

Cross, flattery will get you everywhere. ;)

ToSeek bought me a cool Goddard Space Flight Center mousepad and a super cool NASA GSFC coffee mug. The quote on the cup is...

I'm sharing in the pleasure of your meeting, Candy! Can't wait until I've an opportunity to take you to dinner (probably around mid/late April).

Until then, I'm glad you're enjoying yourself!

Cool Candy, ToSeek and Captain Lovell's son in one meal! :dance: You must be spaced out. For some reason I find it funny that his son owns a restaurant.

By the way, I thought you quit the cancer sticks - I'm telling your trainer! :naughty:

Bring it on, Gené.

Swift, Junior is the Chef, too. His meals were unbelievable. I am very impressed. I had lamb chops, spinach, and chunky potato fries. I also had a tomato salad with mozzarella cheese balls. The seeds used to grow the tomatoes were 100 years old. It was great.

ToSeek had chicken and garlic mashed potatoes. He also had onion soup. It looked good. He ordered something way fattening for dessert. I had one bite. Then there was a few bottles of wine factored into the night. :razz:

I quit the cigarettes, but the temptation around a bar where folks were smoking... well, I had to have a few. I didn't buy a pack. I associate smoking with drinking, and we were drinking.

I don't visit Master Sgt Dan any longer. It wasn't working for me. I lost body fat, but no weight. I couldn't do the diet he wanted for me. I don't like having to eat all that food. Plus, it was food I just don't like.

I've since lost 15 pounds by just snacking through out the day. I'd rather lose the weight, and then start on an exercise kick. I think I'm buying a bike in the Spring.

I've got a few photos, but they're not as good as Candy's.

Lovell's has great food, but (as Candy says) it's expensive. Not sure I'd be up for making it more than an annual habit.

Lots of cool Apollo memorabilia there, including an entire wall's worth right behind where Candy was sitting with Lovell, Junior. I took some photos.

Next year I'll plan on staying an extra day or two so Candy can show me the sights, her schedule permitting. It's pretty silly to go all the way to Chicago for the weekend and then see virtually nothing but the convention hotel and the immediate surroundings.

I think our dinner was a little over $130 for two people - that was not including the tip. Plus, more monies were spent downstairs in the pub area. I got ToSeek to dance with me for one song. I was dirty dancing. Dang, I had so much fun! Oh yeah, ToSeek was flirting with the waitress. :shifty:

TRes cool.

My all time highest bill for two was a bit over that but included tip, dining at the 95th atop the Hancock. You probably beat me overall. Did enjoy it though. Enjoyed the meal I mean, not the beating me. Oh, who knows, might enjoy that too... Chicago has plenty of places spend big bucks on dinner alright. Then there was the night seventeen of us went to Chez Paul. The boss picked up that check. I shudder to think what we cost him.

And we will pretend we never heard this when we post over in the you're-going-broke thread.

Candy says $130, but that was including two bottles of wine. The food alone was about $90, which included two appetizers, two entrees, and one dessert. As I recall, the entrees cost from $23 to $35 or so.

I was mostly making a little pun.
Still, that's pricey, but not very high in my mind. My wife and I went out last weekend for her birthday, to a nice, somewhat trendy restaurant in Cleveland (Sage) and it was about $120 with the tip. I would expect Chicago to be a little pricer than Cleveland. I'll have to check the place out, if and when I'm in that part of the universe.

The most I've personally spent was ~ $300+ for a dinner for four.

Sounds about right for a good restaurant. Last formal date I spent around $100 or so at Sambuca's in Dallas. That, of course, didn't include the tip.

It is OK to include the drinks, ToSeek. You did consume them, and it all counts for the personal records. If you want to eat the stuff instead of just watching IronChef, you gotta pay the cook.

ToSeek, I welcome a tour of Chicago when you visit again. You do the driving and I'll give directions. :)

Yes, well, I'm not used to spending that much just on beverages. So it tends to come with an asterisk in my mind.
