The website Survive 2012 has been brought up before. I occasopnally check out the bloggers there and they're mostly (save a few) on a par with GLP. On a more serious note, if that is possible, the earth is undergoing changes, large and small, ice shelfs breaking off, tsunami's, earthquakes, rains, floods, some bad stuff.

At my last glance, this has apparently been going on for a lot longer than most of us have been around and will continue well into the seeable and not so seeable future. It is the nature of a living planet, and earth is a living organism that breaths, moves, scratches her fleas (us) and generally sometimes has a bad day. Some days are much worse than others.

The difference is in the technological advances made in the last 100 or so years, would we have known about the Tsunami in Indonesia say in 1930? Yes, about 3 or 4 weeks after it happened.

Would we have known about the California earthquakes or rains or floods? Yes, but in about 3 or 4 days.

Now, everything is reletive to the speed at which it is reported, and that fits in nicely with the scenarios of pole shifts, rogue planets,and other theories that require some physical proof to be considered relevant.

If we didn't have the net, we wouldn't have Nancy, X, Zetas, etc.. We would still have earthquakes, rains, floods, tsunami's, tornadoes, and all other Natural phenomenon that makes Earth, Earth.

Ok there is absolute proof in the aluvial fan sedementary deposits of the major rivers of the world that there have been polarity reversals of the earth on a fairly regular time period of about 25000 years. Most calculations based on these deposits suggest that this ill happen again in the next 1000 years. There is also a theory that the coming of this event will be preceded by a gemetric increase in the incedence of earth quakes andvolcanic erruptions. So it is quite simple these have been increasing rather dramatically in the last decade and therefore peerhaps we are approaching a reversal, but then again we have less than 100 years of data to compare this with so we really have no idea what is normal regarding this. Actually, if one tries quite hard, one can insert some truth into these statements--i.e. the magnetic field of the earth does reverse polarity on a semi-regular basis and we are, as far as we can tell, about due. The good evidence is at the plate edges where new material wells up from the mantle, though--don't know about river sediment.

It's easier to bamboozle people if you mix in some truth. But phew, that's some thick stuff.

I needed to update everyone on the status of the "aliens" per the survive2012 website, from a very erudite poster: In one of the alein abuductions claims. The person says that the aliens claimed that there was an advanced civilization on this earth about 30,000 years ago. They also mentioned this pole reversal and that there also was a nuclear war. So what they did is they built a "space city" (as i talked about before) and that there civilzation had been traveling the universe. Another thing is that there are already extresstal life on mars. The aleins are only allowed to come to this planet every 2 years.(04.04.2005, 19:56)(....Sigh...Does Nancy know about this? :D ) PS- Original spelling left intact to enhance the whole "experience"!

I honestly believe that some people just can't accept that things will go on without them. that when they die, the world will do quite well, thankyouverymuch, and won't need their contributions to keep going.

I don't know about river sediment either. It *does* show up in lake and ocean floor sediment as the mellifluously named "Matuyama-Brunhes magnetic polarity reversal". I would think it would be harder to find at an active river mouth with all the whooshing around (if they can have things "wabble"-ing, I think I deserve a "whoosh"!), but I'm only a rockhound, not a geologist.
