So yesterday in a rather spur of the moment dealie I got elected as the "astronomy liasion" in the Case Western Physics and Astronomy club. Sure my campaign was fifteen seconds long and sure my opponent isn't actually an astronomy major but he was the incumbent and I'm just a frosh so woohoo!
No, I'm not quite sure what I do other then a general "talk to the astronomy department" description. So any suggestions as to what I should do with my newfound liasioning powers are appreciated.

It seems that in our astronomy club I keep getting put on lists and stuff. Somehow I'm on the officers' list now...not sure how that happened. :D

Congratulations Andromeda, first item on your agenda will of course have to be fund raising for your inauguration party, errr... sorry, ongoing research.

After that we on BABB require the mandatory details and pics of telescopes and kit you have access to.

As far a liason is concerned I would get across to any engineering facility you have on campus. Any tech. who's a dab hand with a file and hacksaw (and a CNC lathe and mill!) will become very useful for future build projects.

Well now that you mention it... I put in a good word for the BA for the Natural History Museum lectures in Cleveland that the astro dept gives regularly. Unfortunately due to some reason he got disqualified from that (some technicality about research, bleh). But hey, the Physics and Astro Club might invite him yet! :)
