There is a statue of Terry just outside of town here to commemorate where his journey ended. He made it nearly half way across Canada in his run, before his cancer got the best of him.

Thanks, dvb. When I saw this post, I was trying to remember where I saw that statue/memorial. Didn't even need to ask!

It's been reported that if Terry had developed his cancer today, he likely would not have lost his leg at all and probably lived a lot longer. But then, that's what he was running for =D> .

I happened to be on vacation in Canada as the run was happening. Everyone was talking about it. Very sad when it was called off.
