On the FWIS board, there are often threads complaining that this error occurs when attempting to access the BABB:

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

Now, for the first time for me, it is just the other way around. Can't access the FWIS board... :(

I got the same message half an hour ago. Tried twice. Same message.

I can't believe it either! :shock: At first, I thought I was trying to get here. :lol:

I have notified Ikyoto, but he is currently at work and cannot do anything. I will continue checking. Maybe it will clear up on it's own? I've never really paid attention to what the Bad Astronomer does when it happens here.

THer's nothing anyone can do- the most I could ever do was to talk to my hosting providers they just said oh! so there is, let us reset the daiabases then...

I took about an hour....

Some problem with My SQL I wish I knew what though...

I noticed that too, but figured I'd mention that it was okay when I went earlier this morning. Not quite that early though. :D

That's not the issue so much as their posts came eight hours after yours, in any time zone. :)

But, for the record, this post that I quoted for this reply took place at 1:41AM my time.

Nevermind, I had the same time that you saw originally, and for some reason I thought that I'd changed mine from daylight savings. I guess not! :D
